Most of us love the power of the New Year. Leaving an old and possibly somewhat difficult year behind. Banking some powerful things we learned and possibly swore never to do that way ever again. In those sparkly minutes leading up to midnight so many people set intentions for the months and year to come. But very rarely do they set the standards to go with it. Which is why most New Years resolutions remain an elusive dream that has little impact.
Of course you can use the inspiration and power of the new beginning to set goals or intentions for your future. Just make sure it’s resourceful and aligned with what you really value. You see, our values are the top things that are most important to us each as individuals and I work a lot with my clients unpacking what this really is for each of them. (If you want to read more about values I can highly recommend to check out Dr John Demartini’s book The Values Factor or check out my previous blog post about values).
Your values can change over time, but only if you guide them and are aware of the effort it actually takes. Because most things (people included) will go back to their default setting unless there is real reason to change. And your default setting is most likely what you did yesterday or the day before that when you simply lived life according to what you value now.
If you are not happy with the way things have been in the past 12 months and you’re ready for different things in 2017, I’d highly recommend to get in touch with us and see how we can help you identify what you really do want and how to get there.
Have an amazing New Years Eve however you spend it and wherever in the world you are. I look forward to check in with you again in 2017!
PS: Are you following us on Facebook and Google+ yet? We check in even more often there than we do here in the blog!
